And if so, did they get it by applying online or going into the shop in person?

Applying online.

It's very tedious though. There's usually like 20 odd multiple choice questions to be answered before you can even submit your application.
And the choices are ridiculous
If someone spills a pint if milk do you
A. Clean it up
B. Tell the cleaner to clean it up
C. Tell your line manager
D. Ask a colleagues advice

None of them are wrong, so whatever you choose is hit and miss... X 20

Thanks. She has gone through that tedious process of applying online. She has heard of others her age getting jobs by walking into a store and asking but we're not sure how common that is. I just wondered if anyone on here had experience of that happening.

Usually just walking into a shop is the smaller/independent shops and that’s still with a cv but I can’t imagine many are hiring right now.

Walking into the store with a CV (the store got back 4 weeks later). Interview and job as an online shopper. However this was at the start of lockdown when stores were very actively recruiting. Some stores were wanting 18 year olds (He was 17) because the jobs were unsociable hours. He tried Tesco and Co-OP was successful at Sainsbury.
