What time does your 14 year old go to bed?

As in, lights out, phone away? At the moment (so sort of term time in that they have school work to do, but not term time in that they’re not having to be up and our early)

Thanks

8-8:30 bedtime for reading. 9pm lights out.
But my DD is an early riser and up at 6am each day

bluenails2002 · 30/04/2020 22:41

14 year old DS, 10.30. Was 10 but recently increased to 10.30

whattodo2019 · 30/04/2020 22:41

10.00pm

Mintychoc1 · 30/04/2020 22:47

I’ve been saying 10 but apparently I’m really mean and “no one else goes to bed before midnight”. I’m working and my younger son is an early riser so the house is “awake” from 6am, and sleeping in is virtually impossible.

DS2 is 14 next month, bedtime at the moment is 10.30, phone left downstairs.
Normal term time is 10pm but he asked to stay up later as he doesn’t have to get up as early as no travel time to “school”

worriedwellworrier · 30/04/2020 22:52

Currently around 12-1am. Everything has shifted later.

MrsBlondie · 30/04/2020 22:53

8.00-8.30 !
Oh my goodness. A 14 year old??!!

Pre lockdown 10.30pm on school nights. Right now midnight as he can stay in bed later in mornings.

ExpletiveDelighted · 30/04/2020 23:01

10.30ish here too, sometimes much later, sometimes a bit earlier. We don't do lights out, they just go up and go to bed, put their lights off when they're ready to go to sleep, same as us.

womanthatfelltoearth · 30/04/2020 23:04

9 - 9.15 upstairs and lights out at 10. Still has to be dragged out of bed at 8.30, not sure how she'll cope when they actually go back to school!

EnoughAlready2020 · 30/04/2020 23:07

My son is just jumping in the bath now! I'm okay with it though, he wakes much later but he's been brilliant at self working and got amazing grades on his school tests last week.

RedSoloCup · 30/04/2020 23:09

Screens off at 10 but they're allowed to read and chat in bed as late as they want really (13&14 share a room) .

Pipandmum · 30/04/2020 23:17

My 14 yo daughter does have to be at her desk for registration at 8.40, so she's awake from 7.30 if she had to walk to school but now 8am latest as I noticed she's only getting dressed from the waist up! She gets herself up to bed about 9.30-10pm and pretty much sleeps right away. Never had a problem if she's tired she goes to bed.
My 16 year old son was harder and now I leave it up to him. But he's generally an early riser and on weekends tends to be the first one up no matter what time he gets to bed.

DakotaFanny · 30/04/2020 23:19

10pm

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 30/04/2020 23:23

Upstairs between 930 and 1000, leaving devices behind. I'm not at all fussed when he turns his light off though. He has never slept in in his whole life, 830 am is late for him. If he was going to sleep till noon I'd be a bit more chilled I think.

daisymay133 · 30/04/2020 23:27

Dd 14,goes anytime between 11-1am

I go before her but we start school work 10.30am-12;30 then 2-3 and ages fine

daisymay133 · 30/04/2020 23:28

Same as 12 year old

No early night as nothing to get up for

Lessons given mondayvyo last the week so no day to day targets

dementedpixie · 30/04/2020 23:29

Mine are heading to bed now. They probably wont be asleep for ages yet though.

TollyMoll · 30/04/2020 23:30

13 year old goes up at 10.

Keepmeawayfromthecrisps · 30/04/2020 23:33

My ds is up til 1am at latest. Before lockdown it was 9.30/10. He doesn’t have to be logged on in morning for school or he would still be going to bed earlier.

Christmashope19 · 30/04/2020 23:34

Between 9.30/10 on school nights
Can stay up late on Friday and Saturday night

AldiAisleOfCrap · 30/04/2020 23:36

9.30 when she was in school because up at 6am.
Atm I have no idea as she sleeps on a different floor to us. Phone is brought down for charging at 10.30.

2anddone · 30/04/2020 23:37

No phones after 7.30. Upstairs at 8.45 can read if wants to but often chooses to go straight to sleep. He gets up at 7 every morning and likes around 10 hours sleep...he has always been a sleeper.

sweetkitty · 30/04/2020 23:41

I’ve just went in and taken phones off 14 and 15yo DDs. On a normal school night it’s 10.30-11pm, weekends when they want. They are both usually up by about 10am.

Just now usually about this time and up at 9-10am. Everything pushed back a bit.

I think 7.30-8 is too early for a 14yo, my 10 and 12 ups are going to bed at 10pm just now.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 30/04/2020 23:43

Right now, DD (nearly 15) is going to bed when she feels like it. We aim for 11 as DH and I need to be in bed by then, but she often gets up and goes downstairs or is awake in her room. Her electronics go into our room at night so she's usually reading or drawing.

She's always been a night owl, though.

10 is her bedtime during normal term time.

Californiabakes · 30/04/2020 23:49

10 is the usual time
