I have installed parental control software on her schoolwork laptop to help her stay focused and away from social media and whatsapp/insta/tiktok etc
The software automatically tells me (i didn't know it would do this) where she's been spending her screen time (which in itself is a dilemma - I think i need to tell her this because it feels wrong not to)
I left youtube accessible in case she needed for research etc (plus spotify for music) and have seen that she's been accessing subliminal weight loss videos and playing them while she's working.
Should I be concerned? Or only if it continues - I don't know how long she's been doing this.
She's a healthy BMI, and yet sadly like many teens of a healthy weight thinks she's overweight. Eats properly so no concerns there (last year there was a phase of skipping breakfasts)
I wonder whether it's just a response to a need to control something/ being anxious about lockdown etc.
I'm wondering whether I need to tell her about the software and use as an opportunity to talk to her about this too - we've only just started using the software for a week .
