Birthday candles?

Hi all, Friday will be my partners sons (not ready to call him step son yet!) 13th birthday and we're making him a cake. Is he too old for candles? Was just thinking of the numbers 1 & 3 rather than 13 candles? I can't remember when I stopped having candles... Thanks

Either is fine- its more what can you get at the shops? I know some that have had their birthday numbers substituted in deliveries!!!

13 is a milestone though, as he will official be a TEEN now!!!
