Rage tantrums smashing things up

A few days off saying he'd be good from my 13 year old son didn't last very long!

I've been keeping my children in and this evening my 13 year old twin got a phoned call from his friend asking to come out to play. I said no we aren't allowed to play out yet. I got shouted at threated to be punched in the face as I locked the door to stop him going out.

I set him to his room and he's smash his door up, chucked all his clothes down the stairs and just generally made a right mess off his room and the landing.

Now he's currently sitting on the bottom off the stairs refusing to clean up. He can have wild tantrums but it's never been this bad!!

Try to let things settle tonight. It's a tough time for kids as they live for their mates and don't understand how serious it all is. Kids think they are untouchable.
Tomorrow when things are calmer talk to him about why he can't go out and explain how important it is to follow the rules. Would your local pcso call him to chat too?
As for the mess, natural consequences all the way. Leave it for him to live with for a while. Maybe offer to help him tidy up if he is calm.
We have a long way to go and this is why I think a considered calm approach is best for now.
I am finding the days are more successful if we start it by planning whta we will do and roughly stick to it. I have used things like baking to do some maths and English and watched educational programmes like horrible science (on prime) and don't beat yourself up if he doesn't do a lot.

A 13 year old died alone from this virus. If he's going to pull this shit with you I'd make it bloody well clear. Frighten him if you have to, a full on reality check at this point is the way to go.
