Hi

I am after some advice from anyone who is more clued up about modelling agencies than I am.
My son applied to what looks like an assessment centre, they have asked him to come and meet them on Sunday and as he is under 18 he must bring a guardian with him, so that sounds ok.
My first impression of this agency is that they are legit as they are not asking for any money but I suspect they will try to sell a portfolio and this is the bit I am worried about.
They have said they will assess him and take photos and give him feedback on the day.
Has anyone had any such experience they can share?

They'll talk to him and take some digi shots to see what he looks like on camera. They should chat to him about lifestyle, studies (they enforce the need to do continue with studies and work hard as it's a very fickly industry with no guarantees) etc and check if they think he's got the personality to get on in the business. It's not just about looks. Don't pay for a portfolio. If they like him and think he'll get jobs they'll send him for test shoots to build a portfolio. This shouldn't cost you anything. They make their money on a percentage of any work he gets. Hope this helps a bit?
