Where to shop for bras!

Just looking for advice on the best place to get teen bras. My dd is 12 and up until recently would only wear sports bras. She is a b cup already and I'm finding it hard to find suitable bras. She hates wired ones but the only unwired ones I can find are more suitable for the older ladies shall we say! I found some ones that were ok in Victoria secret but they are nearly £40 each!

M&S Angel range are pretty good for first time bras. @£16 for 2 so not overly expensive. Just don't get white as I think they fade very quick.

My DD is 10 and started needing a bra recently. She refused to go in VS because their underwear is only for "if you want to get a boy" 😂😂

We got some lovely, comfortable, non wired bras from Matalan that she loves.

Yes, M&S. Agree with PP - the white ones greyed quickly- nude ones keep their colour.

M&S angel ones were what dd wore. We got her nude ones so they dont show through white school shirts

The ones I found in vs were in the pink range and were quite plain and comfy but way too expensive when she will probably grow out of them very soon!

DD hates the M&S ones. We went and tried them on and she found them really uncomfortable. She's a tiny size 4 and even the 32B was cutting into her and cups were a strange shape. I wasn't impressed at all. I suppose it comes down to individual body shape though.

If your dd is a size 4 then a 32 back would be far too big for her

Has she been measured properly?

My DDs started with M&S but once beyond an A cup they just didn’t work. They’ve had great ones from matalan both normal non-wire ‘bra’ style and sporty crop style (ordered online as no shop near us). There’s also Gilly Hicks (Hollister) their crop top styles are nice and often there’s a sale.

@dementedpixie yes we started at a 28, too tight, then a 30, too tight etc etc.

They didn't have anyone available for measuring in store but I had measured at home using their guide and thought she should be a 28B.

I just don't rate their angel collection at all.

What size are you buying her

Don't buy underwired for teens and fit it on the tightest hook. So it can expand as they grow eg. Let the hook out to the next clasp.
If you are near a John Lewis they do a free bra fitting service book it online using their app.

DD wears M&S Angel but from the normal lingerie section, not the children one.

It took around 45 minutes to get her a bra which fits, we went through tons of combinations until we settle for one. Often a back feels too tight because the cup is too small, DD is a size 8-10 in adult like New Look/H&M and wears 30 backsize, 32 is far too wide for someone with a size 4 in clothing.
