My 13 yo daughter started her period 10 days ago and it's still going strong, poor thing! I honestly can't remember how long my first period lasted it was so long ago!

My dd's (age 12) was 5 days, so same as a normal one. I'd phone the doctor and ask for their opinion if she is bleeding a significant amount at 10 days. I was surprised by how heavy dd's have been - I thought they'd be lighter at her age.

Thankyou, I'll call the doctors tomorrow. I didn't expect it to be this long, a week at the most.

Mine was 7 days v heavy then stopped. Subsequent periods shorter or longer but awful for at least a year. If dd not coping see doc but otherwise normal for things to be awful hormonal Llyn at first

Mine were really long when they started, and heavy. I went on the pill at 15 to calm them down.

My first was 15 days long! It was the worst period I've ever had and I was only 11. It's never lasted more than 4 days since though

Mine varied from 2 to 5 days. One month my period was quite light and the next month it would be quite heavy. It took about 18 months for them to really settle down.
