Ds (13) had the Playstation removed 8 months ago for ongoing behaviour issues. He then moved to You Tube. Now we are in half term, he's been spending a lot of time playing Minecraft on his phone with his best friend. He does a martial art class one/two evenings a week, goes running every Saturday morning, does another sport after running and then 2 hours sport on Sunday morning. The rest of the time he is on his phone. I've suggested a dvd or Lego building (weather has been terrible this weekend) but he doesn't want to.
Do other teens spend a lot of time on phones ?

yes they do. just dont set any limits. it will make them more stressed and anxious. setting limits may help now, but it will be a lot worse in the long run, as they would often get scared of little things like even talking about electronic devices. setting timers can make them rush whatever they are doing. if they are drawing or reading, you wouldn't set limits for that? so why should you do it for electronics? its all practically the same thing.
