Would you relocate to a new area with a 14yo? We have lived on an Island since he was 7, he is the eldest of 4 (11, 7 and 5). Im feeling pretty fed up living here, the living costs are expensive and theres nothing to do, its too expensive and difficult to leave the island for days out or to visit family as often as we would like. Theres other reasons too, my 11yo has additional needs and theres virtually no support here. Im considering moving back to where we lived before moving to the island as i have a house owned outright there (rent on island), i think the youngest 3 would cope fine with the move but im not sure how a move at 14 would impact my 14yo. He is a quiet and sensible boy and has a good group of friends who he sees occasionally out of school, mostly spends time on his PC. He's had the same friends since we moved here. If we were to move hed be moving from village on an island with highschool of 300pupils to a village on outskirts of a town with highschool of around 1000 pupils. Although we have family close by there he wouldn't know anyone.
