Travelling alone

My son (14) goes out on his own once in a while to the local towns with his friends. He wants to visit London on his own. He will travel directly on the picidilly line but is it safe?

i let my dd go into london alone at that age (she had to take a regular train then a tube) so as long as he is sensible, i would allow it. i do insist on regular updates however (when they arrive etc) by text

On his own or with mates? From where? What's he going to do? Do you have a tracker on his phone? Is he familiar with the city and the tube?
If he's just travelling up to meet a mate at X place that's one thing, if he's going solo to just look around not so much.
I let my son travel to london (we live 70 miles away) to meet his older brother at 14 but he had a destination and someone expecting him.

oh yes i agree with PP, i wouldn't let dd or ds if they weren't meeting anybody but i presume he wants to go in with his friends?
