I'm not the parent of a teenager (4 years to go!), but I am the teacher of many.

Good luck to all of those whose children are getting their results today.

I'm heading into school in a minute to see how my two classes have done.

Thanks for your good wishes and hope that your two classes did well.

It's such a relief when it's all over. To think that DD is my first and I've to bite my nails to the quick twice more!

She did really well considering she has had more stress than most over the past two years.

DH went bankrupt last year and we very nearly lost our home not to mention having been (and still being) on the brink of divorce! Added to that her very dear Grandma has been battling cancer for the last 18 months.

All in all, I think 1 A*, 3 As and 5 Bs are pretty reasonable?

twinsetandpearls · 23/08/2007 17:18

We have had our best results ever apparantly, have got to get check what they are as I ahve not been into school today.

abbymeg · 23/08/2007 17:24

Fiddlemama - they're brilliant results! I hope she's celebrating! She did really well, especially so given the circumstances. I hope things settle down for you all, and wish your daughter the best for the future. Both classes did really well, which is brlliant given they were less academic kids. It will be loud in the streets tonight!!

Twinset - don't know if they're best ever but up by 9 percent. Head was very pleased! Well done on yours!

binkleandflip, nearlyemptynester and Milliways. I guess I won't be the only one having a drink or two tonight then! Well done everyone!!!!

Milliways, will she be in the nationals or just local? What area are you in?

I'm just sooo frustrated I can't be with my DD today. She's on her way to Romania on a chamber orchestra course! Left this am at 7 and had to 'phone into school for her results and relay them to us!

Really, desperately want to give her a big hug but will have to wait until 3rd September! but

Milliways · 23/08/2007 18:41

Just the local. We are in Reading but it was the Newbury Weekly News. Maybe the Reading Evening post?

Well done to everyone!

What are they all doing to celebrate?

twinsetandpearls · 23/08/2007 18:41

twinsetandpearls · 23/08/2007 18:50
