Supplements for ds anxiety

My son is 13 and has crippling anxiety, mainly from his abusive father. ( he's nc now). He's about to be assessed by CAHMS, but I've been doing some research and I'm keen to give him some supplements. I've read about fish oils and vitamin B6, but can anyone recommend a good one?

Magnesium? Cbd oil? Less sugar and caffeine.

I find ashwaganda really good. Start at the recommended dose but I’ve increased it to what works for me!
Research the brands as you want the higher active ingredient!

Not sure ashwaganda is recommended for u18s.

Dd has bad anxiety and has magnesium liquid from the Floradix company, plus loads of rescue remedy. Fresh air every day. She's improved but its taken 6 weeks.

Thank you for replying.

Not sure I want to use CBD oil, it's so hit and miss as to the amount of active ingredients. Plus, my ds would be convinced it's really cannabis and would refuse to touch it! ( he's scared of drugs, which I'm really good pleased about)

I'll look into liquid magnesium and thanks again.

Get his vitamin d levels checked too. Was saying anxiety like symptoms in our preteen

What does your GP suggest?

Carpathian2 · 05/12/2019 18:34

My GP has referred him to CAHMS months ago. I just can't get a doctors appointment for him, but that's another thread!

Thanks for the suggestions. I've got him some fish oils and magnesium today and see if that helps.
