Ds16 tantrums over phone

Long story short, we confiscated our 16 year olds phone on Monday due to him not going to school. He’s currently 5 hours into a screaming tantrum and is now sobbing “I need my phone”
He won’t tell us anything, is there anyway we can find out what is actually on it? I know from experience he won’t tell us, his guidance teacher knows there are issues but I really don’t think he’ll tell her either.
I’m worried something is really wrong

You need to unlock it and then go into each app and see what is on there.. most importantly social media/chat apps an emails.. dont be fooled with a generic gmail .. click on the email address there could be more than one email account signed in ..

Sorry you are going through this .. but somehow some way try to unlock the phone .. if it is thumb print locked maybe when he finally falls asleep you can unlock it ..

Lastly check on or in the app store .. sometimes apps are downloaded but hidden .. from the icons you can see what is on the phone ..

Do you think he’s in trouble with someone? Do you think he might be involved buying/ selling drugs? It is a really difficult one as it really sounds like you’d like him to share with you but he’s not going to at the moment. Is there anyone who he might talk to that could help?

I was like that around that age. Nothing dodgy for me I genuinely had massive anxiety about what people could be saying about me online. Not that I’d done anything I was just scared people could be talking about me or posting stuff on my Facebook wall as it was then it was complete anxiety and addiction to my phone and when my parents took it away it was complete torture used to make me actually ill. What a sad world ay
