DD has chosen a beautiful red dress for her prom - first hurdle, tick (she doesn't war dresses or skirts :-) )
It falls sort of A Line so it's not a tight, pencil fit skirt. It falls softly with lots of movement. She does not wear heels or anything remotely girly in the footwear dept .. lives in riding boots or Nike trainers. She wants to wear trainers under her prom dress and there is no way on gods earth will she wear anything else. So, I'm thinking a pair of red velvert tainers/sneakers with ribbons for laces would be a lovely compromise. But they are like hens teeth to find. Any suggestions of where to look or other ideas very gratefully received !

Google glitter trainers, not ribbons but some pretty cool ones there (I like the converse!)

Depends on your budget of course but could you get some custom made? I know some girls at my prom (years ago now of course) had custom Adidas or Nikes etc

I'm sure I've seen puma do a nice deep red pair with ribbon laces, if not you can always put the ribbon in yourself!

It's not that odd to wear trainers with a fancy dress to prom
For both of DD's years some did and not even fancy trainers
Both mine wore heels for pics and entrance but swapped later
