Lighthearted

Besdies the crap that come with parenting a teen. What is the strangest thing your teen uses of yours?

My sd is known for useing my stuff she doesnt need.. for example
She uses my facial hair shavor (she has none)

She once used a while tube of anti wrinkle cream of mine before i noticed it was missing.

Everything seems fair game in this house, dh thinks i should lock things up but ..

  1. I shouldnt have to think about locking up anti wrinkle cream
  2. If she asked first i wouldnt refuse.

So what does your teen use.

My dd doesn't use anything of mine, to the extent that I find it quite odd. Toiletries etc I see as fair game anyway, but she never uses razors, makeup, perfume etc. I do offer to buy her how own, but she isn't fussed.

Food though, she'll eat 6 nectarines in a day, or whole tins of fruit, or (last night) a box of 20 mini brownies that were surplus from a cake I'd made.

I borrow her wide tooth comb occasionally and a really nice brown leather jacket of hers, and lots of art supplies (I do ask though!)

My dd takes my underwear as she too lazy to find her own doesn't put away kn correct place and I do so Its handy. I am a size 14 shes a 6 but ties a knot in them.
Got new bottle of perfume of dh for anniversary she had it in school bag the next day lol
Everything is fair game hear too.

Nothing particularly strange but my teen ds wears my running shorts and also my socks, even though he has plenty of his own socks!
DS 13 and 12 also use my nice (expensive!) toiletries sometimes even though they have plenty of their own. I don’t have many treats for myself and so it does annoy me a bit, especially when they put the empty bottles back!!

isabellerossignol · 28/09/2019 21:32

Mine wears my trainers and stretchs them...

My socks and tights all seem to have disappeared into her drawer even though I'm a size 14 and she is about a size 6. She swears she needs the same size of tights that I do.

This is what I don’t understand about ds and my socks. My feet are much smaller than his!!

I used to pinch all the nail scissors in the house. I always needed scissors and once I had a pair i had no clue where they were (because I misplaced them) so I would go to the place I knew there would be some. I did get better at putting them back eventually. Definitely needed my own.

NOOGADAH40 · 28/09/2019 23:30

My daughter uses my toothbrush! In fact, I don't even think she has her own anymore 🤦‍♀️

AaaaaaarghhhWhereAreMyKeys · 28/09/2019 23:51

DD1:

Socks and sometimes knickers (it’s so much easier to nick them from my drawers than actually find them in her room).

2 navy vest tops which she has blatantly just claimed as her own.

DP’s humungus Bench jacket.

A v nice refillable pen which was a special pressie for my 21st birthday - found it in her bin, she’d chucked it away when the refill ran out 😬.

DD2: perfume, also likes to sample EVERYTHING new in the bathroom.

Imonlydoingwhatican · 29/09/2019 08:12

Least im not alone in my confusion.

The knickers made me laugh, my sd doesnt take mine shes size 8 im say 18 🤦‍♀️ but she been known to take me leggins and tye a hairband in them.
Her mum did say when she stay down there she takes her knickers. Lol.
She always pinches me jumpers, found my winter storage even though she has 100 hoodies

My DD would rather slit her wrists than wear any of my clothes eew!
She does steal my handbags though!

mamaduckbone · 29/09/2019 16:24

As the mother of a 6'2" 13yo ds there's nothing he could possibly want to wear or fit into of mine...but I pinch his hoodies occasionally. Grin
He went through a phase of using my hairspray, but is a bit more natural now -doesn't go for the footballer quiff any more.

VioletCharlotte · 29/09/2019 16:29

18 year old DS is always pinching my stuff. Phone charger and Bluetooth speaker are the obvious ones, but also my glycolic acid (he likes the way it makes his skin feel!), cleansing wipes and tweezers.

DS1 nicks my paddle brush, I'm forever finding it covered in hair wax Hmm

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 29/09/2019 16:34

Grin at tying a knot in the knickers.
Nothing is safe in my house.
