just finding D's (13) more hard work than usual at the moment. We have no freedom due to his unpredictable moods (ADHD and attachment issues from early adoption).
I don't enjoy weekends because I'm constantly on eggshells while he is self-absorbed.
He is constantly irritable and difficult to be with. I rang the ADHD clinic and asked for some help. The form they sent me to fill in made me realise how hard things are day-to-day. He reacts badly to stimulant medication (tried lots of brands).
Is this ever going to get better?

That sounds really hard. Mine has no issues afaik but is vile 1/2 the time. He needs a lot of time alone but spends too much of it with social media/screens. Only things that help are spending time with others to dilute parental pressure and lots of neutral but positive comments. What works for your son?
