Teenage spots

Just wondering if anybody can advise me on a good skin care routine / products to help combat spots.

My son is almost 13 and is beginning to suffer from 'under the skin' spots across his forehead. Generally speaking, he doesn't seem to suffer from particularly oily or dry skin. He plays a lot of sport and I'm guessing this area gets quite sweaty under his hair!

Many thanks 😁

We are in same do is 14. We have boots with hazel face wash which he does morning and eve. Plus a witchazel wand for when he has a spo/s broken out. Seems to work quite well. I have got clearasil for massive breakouts but have told him to be sparing as it’s brutal. Pure witchazel also as a pre clearasil step! Also emphasised drinking water and less crap food and hand washing as they all touch their face all the time. I’m quite lucky so far as he’s pretty clean teen and loves a bath!

We went through this from aged 13. Forget over the counter it simply doesn’t work. Go to your GP first step is antibiotics then topical and finally roaccutane. My DS went through this and now looks like he has never had a skin problem and has lovely skin. Roaccutane gets a bad rap but DS didn’t experience any problems and now his sebum glands have been reduced there is no chance of recurring spots. It has been life changing for him. I wish we had gone down this route 2 years earlier.

For general cleaning routine I would recommend the Bulldog range, my DS uses the face wash every day in the shower and it has definitely made a difference. Its quite manly looking which helped me persuade him to use it!
