Very pale, gets dizzy when she stands up loss of appetite, very tired. Only now starting to get worried I feel like a bad parent! What should I do should I be worried or is this normal?

Is she eating? Has she lost a lot of weight? I think you’re right to be concerned.

Seeline · 10/07/2019 17:12

How long has this been going on for?
She could be anaemic. Or pregnant.

shadypines · 10/07/2019 21:11

She needs checking out ASAP for things like diabetes, advise ringing your doctor tomorrow for an urgent appointment.

Hope she is ok Oli.

ELR · 18/07/2019 11:21

Possible vitamin d deficiency? Low iron levels? I'd get her to the GP for some standard blood tests as a first step.

TeenTimesTwo · 18/07/2019 12:38

Agree blood test for anaemia and/or not eating/drinking enough.

LatentPhase · 18/07/2019 18:36

Pregnant?

SnuggyBuggy · 18/07/2019 18:37

Is she aware there is an issue or in denial. Is she willing to see a GP?

AquaPris · 18/07/2019 19:01

Take her to the doctor it sounds like anaemia or a possible ED

Broken11Girl · 18/07/2019 20:10

Sudden or gradual, for how long?
Agree, ED or something like anaemia or vitamin deficiency come to mind, could be thyroid issue although less likely in someone so young, POTS, CFS/ME, glandular fever. GP asap, do NOT Google and don't feel bad Smile these things can be subtle until they're not and teens are resilient.

Justyou · 18/07/2019 20:15

Mine is exactly the same except severe headaches, 111 sent us to a&e last week as was so bad with vomiting.
They wanted to send an ambulance but I said I’d drive her- got told it will just be one of her migraines and left her to sleep for an hour.
Was so shocked as didn’t even take temp or bp

Tentomidnight · 18/07/2019 20:15

Have you asked your dd if she has any other, hidden, issues or symptoms?
Can you persuade her to go to the GP?

Tentomidnight · 19/07/2019 23:18

Did you find any answers op?

twinklylights · 19/07/2019 23:54

My dd 14 was a bit like this. I took her to the GP who suspected anaemia and ran some blood tests. It turned out she had hypothyroidism. A few months in we have got the right dose of levothyroxine sorted and she is back to normal.

JasperTheFriendlyGhost · 20/07/2019 00:00

quick visit to the gp i think
