Would you leave a 12 and 15yo home alone in the evening

We have done so before when local, however this is a show in London, so we would be a couple of hours away if there was a problem. Would be from 6pm till midnight-ish. In the summer holidays, clearly would either leave pizza or money for takeaway. Oldest is male if that makes any difference.

I'm not lovely but am a back up for some neighbors kids. The parents always ask me if I mind and don't mind if I say no but more often than that I'm happy to do it. In about 15 years I've only been contacted twice. Once when they couldn't pay for pizza as the card declined and once when the daughter regretted asking her boyfriend over and wanted an adult.
Go have fun

It’s fine.

Yes. I let my 15 year old go out at night so why wouldn’t I let him stay home! I babysat from 12, which was normal ‘back in the day’!

Yes, 15 is old enough to be a babysitter. I was a babysitter at 14. As long as they can contact you in an emergency there's no problem.

I have a 15 and 11 year old and I do leave them home alone occasionally. it's great to not need a babysitter at last.

Fine.
We do.

My sis does that with her 2 of the same age with a neighbour on standby just in case.
