13 year old vaping

So clearing out DS's room and just found vaping kit hidden in a shoe box. Not sure how to react - DH ready to smash his XBox into smithereens but I've learnt from enough experience flying off the handle doesn't help.

He's been getting increasingly sneaky and while I don't think the liquid has nicotine in it I'm really worried about whether this is a sign of something worse

Bowing down to the wisdom of MN to please give me some advice if what for me is totally uncharted territory.

I would come down extremely hard on this.

Not smashing his stuff but certainly confiscating it, doing lots of penance chores, and learning lots about the evils of smoking.

It's funny because I thought I've been able to smell an odd aroma in his room but in my ignorance because it wasn't a cigarette smoke smell didn't think anything untoward. It's grape liquid.

I have to be careful because I tried smoking around around that age and don't want to come across a hypocrite but of course wasn't stupid enough to leave evidence laying around. What worries me the most is how sneaky he's becoming

Would appreciate any more advice
