Please see the message about moving and merging Parenting threads and give your opinion. I hope most of you would agree that we need a separate section dedicated to teens.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 15/05/2019 19:18

YY please leave it!

MrsFogi · 15/05/2019 19:18

Agreed - teenagers should remain a separate topic. I'm not going to bother to wade through threads on the early years to pick out the ones about teenagers. Totally different!!!

BillywigSting · 15/05/2019 19:20

I don't have a teenager but even I can see that parenting a five year old and parenting a fifteen yearsm old are both going to bring very different challenges.

Merging seems like a spectacularly stupid move imo.

SpoonBlender · 15/05/2019 19:20

Yeah - Teenagers particularly needs to be kept, I think it's the only place I ever point people to*. Shouldn't this be in Site Stuff though? Ask for it to be moved and read :D

*apart from Site Stuff, apparently!

Iwantacookie · 15/05/2019 19:30

Yes please leave it alone.

Windygate · 15/05/2019 19:34

Leave it alone. Teens and toddlers are very different

JasperTheFriendlyGhost · 15/05/2019 19:34

Shock noooooooooooo leave it be!!

Crunched · 15/05/2019 19:36

It is a necessary board in my opinion.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 15/05/2019 19:39

God yes, please leave it as a separate board!

llangennith · 15/05/2019 19:40

Definitely need a separate teenagers section!

QueenofWhatever · 15/05/2019 19:41

Agreed!

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 15/05/2019 19:41

Please leave it, separate issues and concerns some of which are sensitive and open to a certain amount of judgeyness from those who aren’t dealing with teen and pre-teen issues

practicallyperfectwithprosecco · 15/05/2019 19:46

Parenting a teen is way more traumatic than a toddler definitely needs it's own board!!

Boffing · 15/05/2019 19:48

Why on earth? There are so many bizzare topics that noone uses, why merge the most important ones?

weegiemum · 15/05/2019 19:49

Please keep teenagers separate! I've got 3 and it's incredibly helpful!!

ScreamingValenta · 15/05/2019 19:49

Even as someone without children and with little knowledge of the stages they go through, I can see that teenagers and toddlers are completely different!

Ticklingcheese · 15/05/2019 19:52

Please don't, teen posts will drown in that section. Not to mention the judgement/fear of judgement from posters, who haven't got to this point in life yet.

LynetteScavo · 15/05/2019 20:19

It seems like a crazy idea!

I don't post much in Teens, but I do read it quite a bit!

I hate that when parents of Teens post in parenting they get replies from parents of toddlers who just don't get what it's like to parent a teenager.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 15/05/2019 20:24

Terrible idea. This board was my go-to when dd first entered the teens. Even if I didn't always post I'd browse and reassure myself. Posts would get lost on the general parenting board.

DoNotBlameMeIVotedRemain · 15/05/2019 20:34

Please keep the teen board. We really need something separate. The advice is more valuable if most posters have experience with this age group.

danicohn · 15/05/2019 20:36

Hear hear!

Oblomov19 · 15/05/2019 20:41

Think this is a very very bad idea. What is the logic/reasoning please. I've been on MN for 16 years and I've gone through different sections regarding help for Ds1 and Ds2 and I have been using the teenage section a lot in the last few years and it is different to other parenting needs and it works well as it is.

rotrue · 15/05/2019 20:57

Definitely loads of shit advice from people who have yet to parent teens - it's really frustrating and not at all supportive..this forum needs to be separate.

errorofjudgement · 15/05/2019 20:59

Please leave teenagers alone! Until you have one you really can’t comment on how to parent them

Northernmum100 · 15/05/2019 21:03

Please keep as a separate category, it's a great source of support and info
