So my 16 yo has spots like constantly.... she was put on acne treatment and pills last year and it cleared up.... but since Xmas it has got a whole lot worse again! So dr changed the cream and it’s makibg no difference! She drinks loads of water, is healthy, walks to and from school every day do gets plenty of fresh air and washes her face with plain water. Spot creams etc from the shops make it worse. Any suggestions?

Best go back to the GP to see what they recommend next. They may put her back on whatever it was she had that worked or may suggest something stronger. GPs generally try a couple of different types of antibiotics before referring on to a specialist, who may prescribe roacatine (sp?) which does need monitoring for side effects but really works even on severe acne. Getting rid of his spots made a huge difference to my DS

Benzoyl peroxide and a salicylic acid face wash. Read up on the benzoyl peroxide first x

I'd go back to the doctor and ask for a referral to a dermatologist.

It's probably hormonal. Topical treatments won't do enough. Speak with your gp. They might offer her some antibiotics or even the pill.

Yes definitely go back to the GP. Acne is nothing to do with how clean you are or how healthy although it is good to lead a healthy lifestyle.
