Tracker for mobile phone

I have read on here about a tracker to get which attaches to the SIM card for a mobile phone but I can’t find the thread.

I have problems with DS13 and am worried for his safety as he has sneaked out at night.

He turns off his data so we can’t track him on find friends app or find my iPhone. Does anyone have any recommendations for a tracker we can use on his phone.? We are thinking of upgrading his phone soon so it would be an ideal time to put a tracker on his new phone.

Thank you

Why would you upgrade his phone if he is arsing round sneaking out at night!

My teenagers both have phones so I can contact them (and boss them around). If they didn’t answer their phone or I couldn’t look on ‘find my friends’ to see if they were home when I’m at work then there would be no point in them having a phone paid for by me.

He has a phone so he can contact us - a safe guarding issue. We are looking at changing it as it’s really old and has a smashed screen and we can get a second hand one at a good price

If you're using iPhone and set up Apple family, using the screen time restrictions you can prevent changes to find my friends and also prevent changes to mobile data settings (meaning he can't turn it off). Can also prevent changes to passcode, fingerprints etc.

Of course none of that will prevent him turning the phone off or taking the SIM card out

That’s helpful thank you swimmingdory

Comefromaway · 03/05/2019 13:01

Yes it can as long as you have Ios12

It's a safe guarding issue you letting him sneak out at night, he couldn't arrange to meet his mates at night if he didn't have a phone! Thought of that!?

I think stopping him leaving is more important than tracking where he is.
