When (or if) do you force this issue on certain topics? My 14yr old is very very conscious about looks/ weight. Looks at packets, and obsessed with healthy vs non healthy foods. She is a very healthy looking girl, not in the least overweight or underweight, though puberty hit early which is when I think she started becoming conscious of being "bigger" than her peers. I've been really relaxed about food, not forced the issue, just talked about the need to eat a balanced diet with some fat in it thanks to school food tech, fat is apparently evil to help absorb vitamins etc.
Breakfast is now an issue - most days skipping it because she is not hungry, eating a light (sandwich and fruit) lunch, then decent evening meal. I've tried to encourage her to cook for herself, tried different breakfast options etc, but I fully understand that for some people they cannot do breakfast at all. She has a bit of an obsessive personality, and is the type of person that if I try to force the issue, then I know she will become more and more stubborn, and really don't want to tip into eating disorder territory. Do I just ride it out, and suggestion?
