My teen has started getting really spotty all over his forehead.

What's the current best advice for keeping them to a minimum?

diet is an important part of keeping the skin healthy. try to encourage her to eat lots of fruit and veg, and drink lots and lots of water (apps like plant nanny are good for keeping track of this)

my dd has found that putting a bit of sudocrem on the spots can help clear them. she also uses this link to wash her face in the mornings, and then smooths a bit of this over her skin.

all the best x

My advice is see your GP and start with either topical treatment or antibiotics. Then if no joy ask for dermatologist referral

Tea tree oil had been brilliant for DS's skin. We also dream his face once a week and use a facial scrub.

We've tried a few things from the chemist, nothing has really made a difference.

I can second going to see the GP. The GP has prescribed an antibiotic solution. As he has very dry skin she didn't want to prescribe anything too drying. Two weeks later and his skin is just so much better.

My advice is for him to keep his skin clean with a gentle face wash and use an oil free moisturiser. My son likes neutrogena products. Also consider using a gentle shampoo/body wash - as we found some products irritated his skin. Also keep his pillow case clean. Otherwise we have tried most over the counter products, topical and oral anti-biotics without much success. However the 'simple approach' has kept the spots under control and his skin is gradually improving as he gets older.

Ds uses this Simple oil balancing face wash in the morning in the shower and it really helps when he remembers.

Or he forgets they start to come back and I remind him and they are gone again in a few days.

He did use clearasil face pads at one point, but they really dried his skin out.
