So a local nightclub started running a Teen disco on a Friday and Saturday night (it's a bar and restaraunt downstairs, a club upstairs, a Function room about the same size as the club with most of the stuff from it and a Event venue type area out back.
Anyway so a majority of the customers were going downstairs since they usually have a dj/live band on down there but with different music (upstairs is modern pop/Dance music/Hip hop whereas downstairs is stuff like clubland classics and 90s dance as well as sometimes 80s and 90s disco)
Anyway so they used to run a teen disco in the function room which the people I'm gonna mention thought was a amazing idea. Bear in mind there's no difference between the club and function room both have a similar looking bar and all that stuff. The only difference is the club has a haze generator, moving heads on the roof and moving head scanners attached to the walls whereas the Function room has none of that.
So anyway since it's no longer used as a club they thought they'd run it as a teen disco since they have to bring in a smoke machine as well as some very poor portable lighting to the function room.
Anyway this caused a lot of parents to freak Out. They were saying how inappropriate it is to be encouraging clubbing at this age and that they will not be allowing their child to attend it.
I don't get this. It's the exact same thing just with a better light system. Security was always tight and they're using the same security for the new one.
I don't get it. are they freaking out because the venue used to have nightclub in the name (it's now referred to as the upstairs function room which is what all the kids know it as).
I don't see the freak out. I mean they were massive supporters of the old one as soon as they Add better lights it's A problem.
By the way I've been in both the past month one for a friends birthday the other to see what it was like inside and they are exactly as I described.
Does anyone know what's going on here. No hate to those who don't like underage discos to begin with its these ones who turn for literally no reason.
Also sorry for the long rant post it's just annoying that they can't seem to let it go it's been 3 weeks since they made the change and they won't give up on the whining
