16th birthday celebration ideas

Anyone got any fabulous ideas for a 16th birthday celebration for DD who doesn't have masses of friends (she has a small number of very close and loyal friends) and wouldn't involve alcohol (i.e. not at our house or hiring a hall)? She is such a great girl, I want to make it special for her.

Depends on her personality!

Beautician around for a spa night to give them all different treatments whilst they chat and eat take away?

Meal out in a special restaurant for them all?

Budget?

Kiki spa day would be great, except that some of her close friends are boys. A special restaurant might be a good idea - like a TGI Friday or something like that.

AJP we're not mega rich or anything, but happy to spend a decent amount. Hadn't really thought of a specific budget - but do you reckon £400 would give her something special?

Photo shoot. Likely to appeal to boys as well as girls.

Walking over the top of the O2 Arena in London, if you live close enough.

Day trip with the aim of visiting every train/underground station on the Monopoly board. Then home for a take away, and a game of Monopoly!

Indoor skydiving. I know they have a wind tunnel at Xscape in Milton Keynes, but there are others.

A driving experience for them all.

Where, roughly do you live? How many of them?

We did an "Escape "Room" for our 16yo DD and four friends a couple of years ago followed by a Black cab to a local Restaurant (with no adults) !
Went down very well. I didn't know what an escape room was but it turned out that for a small gang of teenage girls it was a good laugh and the restaurant afterwards made them all feel very grown up.
Sorted it out with the restaurant in advance of course, no alcohol rule and my card details left to sort the bill. Came in well under £400.

Boys like to be pampered these days!

Maybe a massage and nails followed by a pre dinner getting ready at yours - music free run of the house

What does she like or would like to try?

Center Parcs Aqua Sana Spas allow mixed Male and females from age 14. We paid about £69 per person for a Twilight Spa session of 5 hours, which included dinner worth £25.

Oh escape room could be a lot of fun for them!

As an ex Londoner, I couldn’t imagine a worse way to spend a birthday!

The close-kit group are 6 - boys and girls. Depending on what we decide on, there could be a few more, but 6 is the minimum. We are in the South, but not very near the sea. Obviously I will talk to her about it, but I would like a few ideas as she's the sort to say "I don't really know what I want." She doesn't have any specific interests or hobbies.

My dd wants a hot tub party fir her 16th. With dominos pizza. Easy enough to do and it would suit boys and girls!

Yeah you can hire them - either the rub plus gazebo in case of rain or a full on inflatable disco dome thing too!

My friend hired a Karaoke Booth for her DC's 16th birthday party (that was a mixed group) I think they had nibbles and mocktails there as well. They all had a great laugh apparently.

I've just had another thought. My DS (who is 16) went on the Crystal Maze experience last Summer (post GCSE treat) which he said was great fun. Not sure when your daughters birthday is but the new West End venue is opening soon so that might be worth a look?
