My teen daughter is usually lovely and doing well at school, but recently she has turned into a nasty madam. She refuses to clean, help out and is downright rude to both of us. Tonight I refused to give her a lift to her outing due to her terrible attitude. She texted a friend and her friends mum came to pick her up! And off she went Shock - I’m just so shocked by her sudden poor behaviour. How do I stop this?!?!?!?!?!? AND how do I deal with her when she returns home? I just don’t feel like speaking to her at all after undermining me like that.

How old?

What do you have control of that she really cares about? (eg do you pay for her phone?)

I don't think that battles of wills work well. Stressing the benefits of keeping you onside might work better.

It could be hormones, love, stress from school, or exhaustion after a long term at school?

Let her be self sufficient for a few days.
She will be back.....
