Looking for advice regarding university

Hello, newbie here but just looking for advice regarding our teenager. He has just completed his first semester at university and the long and short of our story is that he is back home with what looks like a diagnoses of bi polar disorder. We feel the best option is for him to transfer to a university closer to home...he could commute etc. He really wants to do this and due to the massive mess he is in financially and emotionally we are really hoping this is possible with the universities involved. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation ? Any advice would be very much appreciated. Of course we will be contacting his university about this but just reaching out in the interim.
Thank you.

I've had students who have transferred in a similar situation.

Also had students who have suspended for a year and then come back once medication has been sorted.

Is he able to contact his current university? He should have a personal academic tutor and a senior tutor who can do some of the legwork for him. Get in touch asap before they all go off for Christmas (and don't be too upset if some may already be gone- academics often try to get research in during the days around Christmas). What they can't do themselves they should be able to find someone to help with, including financial advice. \

all best wishes Flowers

You’ve had some great advice already, have you had any luck with his current uni?
