what are mock exans for

ds has 2 mock gcse's next week. what are mocks for?

Exam practice - it lets them know what to expect, they can test their knowledge, and if they have been slacking and fail the mock it can act as a good kick up the backside and lead to lots of cramming!

Some kids aren't good at exams and doing a mock can help so the know what to expect.

To give them a chance to either be reassured that they are doing enough work, or to find out that they aren't!

Agree with what has been said. Also, if for any reason a child is ill and unable to take a GCSE or A-level the mock is often used to determine a grade.
