Increasingly frequent periods?

DD (15) has increasingly frequent periods. She tracks them using some app thing, and the cycle time is reducing each month - down to 17 days this time.

Am planning to book a GP or nurse appointment - any ideas about what it might be?

She has until quite recently had very very infrequent periods (which I had always put down to doing 10+ hours a week of intense dance ) but this rapidly shortening cycle is new. Very average height and weight, very fit.

I had this exact experience. Up until the age of 14 I had very infrequent periods. Then when I hit 14 the cycle decreased to an all-time low of 16 days. It was the main reason why I went on the pill at 15 which sorted it.

I would definitely suggest getting her checked, I never went to the doctors because I was too embarrassed so definitely remind your DD that it's nothing to be embarrassed about if she feels this way too.
