My DD (13) went shopping at the weekend, and has bought some absolutely TINY knickers (I've just found them in the wash). They are the most miniscule thongs imaginable. You could literally fit them in a Kinder Egg capsule, with room to spare.

I'm torn between respecting her underwear autonomy (and guessing that it might be a brief (arf!) experimentation, and putting my foot down and saying she needs to wear something more age appropriate (which IMO means non-thong, and made of something comfier than nylon).

What's the MN verdict on young teenage undies?

If they are that small they might have got lost in the wash, or the machine might have eaten them 😉

My daughter is 13 and thinks thongs are horrendous - however she has become very particular about her underwear and we can’t just buy a pack of Asda ones anymore.
She likes the PINK from Victoria secret ones that are seamless - they are I suppose trendy big knickers - they were on offer last week 7 pairs for £25 maybe these could be an alternative option ?

Mine did the same. Hardly worth wearing.

I've left her to it. Her money, her bum. She'll grow out of it once she realises they are uncomfortable.

Pink brand ones are nice. My DD likes them.

I think it depends what she wears them with. So usual jeans/leggings etc fine. If she wants to wear them with a skirt so short you can see her pants then maybe not.
