Crusty tissues under the bed!

Hello all, reaching out to the hive mind in hope you can help with some advice! Eldest DSS is 16 and lives with us half the week. His dad stripped his bed at the weekend and found a ton of crusty tissues down the side of the bed - one was even stuck to the wallpaper Confused! We both appreciate he is of an age where he wants to explore his sexuality etc, that's not the problem. What is annoying is that DSS hasn't tidied up after himself. My DH is wondering how to discuss this with him in a way that won't be embarrassing for DSS. Any ideas?

I wouldnt bother, hes old enough to be a parent himself Confused

Buy him a waste bin, no need o embarrass him with a discussion. At 16 he doesn't need his dad to be making the bed for him, he can do it himself, just tell him when you're doing the washing and can he bring his sheets down.

Thanks Holeymoley, good idea about the bin. As for the bed, DSS would usually do it himself but wasn't with us last weekend when putting the wash on, hence the discovery! Smile

Surely you just say ' can you put your tissues in the bin please' job done.

Pinkruler · 16/11/2018 09:57

Agree with Holy - buy a waste bin, and put a bin liner in it Grin.

Used tissues go in the bin, not under the bed or on floor thank you!

Job done.

HoustonBess · 16/11/2018 14:44

Ew, that would stink, even in a wastebin. A little chat about putting tissues with bodily fluid on them down the toilet?

ADastardlyThing · 16/11/2018 14:46

Don't mention it directly, it's not a big deal but will be embarrassing for him. Get him a bin for his room and let him know it's there for any rubbish.
