My 17 year old cousin left school a few weeks ago as he wasn't enjoying A levels. He'd looked at some vocational courses (I don't know how seriously) but didn't see any he liked. He is now working full time (at a place he has been at for a while) and says that he's talking to his employer about them taking him on as an apprentice. Does anyone know how straightforward this is to organise as an employer, and what his options are if this doesn't work out?
It's a complicated story at home and I want to make sure I understand a few things before I make any suggestions as to what options might be open to him.
