Ok so my ds age 13 has run up a phone bill of £50 due to texting a question and answer number . He claim he didn't know what he was doing but looking on their website the charges are clear. He has spent the last of his own money on a very expensive top last week so no money to contribute to the bill. I've said he can work it off but what jobs should I get him to do. I was thinking clean car inside and out etc but what else?

Cook dinner
Take rubbish out
Hoover whole house
Change beds
Clean toilet
Sweep up leaves in garden
All good life skills to learn how to do

Have you made sure he can’t go over his limit in future? My DD had a bit of a shock last month and her phone would only make emergency calls.

Ohyesiam · 31/10/2018 19:03

Well he can do all the stuff that needs doing. Cooking, cleaning, clearing up .

pickledolive · 31/10/2018 19:22

Yeah I've blocked his phone for anything above his allowance feel a bit stupid for not doing that already really.

It could of been worse. My DF didn’t put a limit on her DD’s phone, first monthly bill came in at £330 Shock

Anything that needs doing surely? Don’t just invent busy work for him, make it meaningful
