How plugged in are your teens?

DSS 15 spends most of his time either on his laptop playing fortnight or on his phone. He has no hobbies or interests really outside online computer games. Do you limit your teens screentime over half terms? Insist they come out with the family? I'm just worried about him but not sure what the normal range is.

I used to impose a maximum 2hours a day screen time rule at that age. It was tough going and sometimes DS would spend longer on games if eg he had had his two hours at home then went to a friends as he would often be gaming at his friend's.

He did have other interests though.

It's difficult isn't it.

However, spending a lot of time on screen activities is very unhealthy. Would your DS be up for going to a gym or doing a paper round maybe. Duke of Edinburgh maybe? Sorry if these are irrelevant.
