Anxiety help for a 17 year old

My DS has for the last couple of months been suffering from anxiety - this has presented as being scared to go to sleep as he thinks he's going to die. He sets his alarm every hour to wake him up so he doesn't go into a deep sleep. We took him to the GP in June - he said to go back in a few months if it's no better.
It is getting worse (probably because he's so tired!) But he's refusing to go back to the GP as he says he can control it.
Just wondering if anyone has any advice about what we should do?

My sister was like this from the age of 11 it all stemed from bullying with her. She was given Prozac and therapy and it's worked wonders. She still panics about dying now and then but on the whole she's getting better. Is there no way you can get an on call doctor round

A few months? If he’s not sleeping it can’t wait.
He can’t control it if he is setting the alarm every night. Maybe agree not to set it or to see GP. (Preferably a different one who will take this seriously.)
Is he at school or college? Any support there?
