Teen Hates Where We Live ..

My teenage son announced last night he hates where we live (in a small village) It's heartbreaking to think we've moved somewhere he hates. There isn't much to do here but he'd love to get into skateboarding but because he won't practice outside in case anyone's watching him, he's not learning. Anyone know any places that do skateboarding in the Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Midlands area or groups or anything he could do to get him off the Xbox?

I think the skateboarding is a red herring. If he went to a proper skateboarding place there would be lots of people there to watch ( far more than outside your house).
We live in a small village. It was idyllic when they were little but as they got older it was clear there was nothing to do around here. Their friends were all scattered in other villages and there is no public transport
We made a point of never saying no to a lift. If a club or sport was on in the next town or village we would always take them. I encouraged them to have friends over, even if we had to ferry them or have them sleepover.
The xbox and online gaming is actually a good way for them to socialise when they live in a village. They can chat and play along with friends.
They both learned to drive as soon as they were 17 which gave them freedom and us a relief from lifts.
