School uniform rant!!!!

I have 2 kids at high school DS 15 & DD 12, their uniform like many others can only be bought from one shop in the city, I ordered & paid for my DS new school trousers in June but weren’t in stock at the time, I was told would get a txt msg when had been delivered, I’ve been in today & asked if ready to collect, the owner said all outstanding orders had been completed, I said ‘no they haven’t!’ She then said my DS was an unusual size 34” W 32” L, I said that’s pretty standard & he is 5ft 10in, she then said would chase it up with suppliers but can’t guarantee I would get them for September!

I’ve had to buy him a pair from another shop & match them up as best I can but he is now worried he will get told off & being a prefect he needs to set a good example!

I’m bloody fuming she was happy enough to take my pissing money but has obviously forgotten to order them but won’t admit it!

I've had similar experiences with uniform shops. They have a captive market so don't need to provide good service. A complaint will get you nowhere and just add to your frustration. However it is important that you write or email the senior member of staff at the school who takes responsibility for students being properly dressed. Firstly this should ensure that your son doesn't get into trouble (give him a copy of his/her reply to carry in his pocket) and secondly might make the school consider a different supplier of uniform when the contract comes up for renewal 😀

Agree you need to email whoever the member of staff is enforcing the uniform policy, now, even if they are on holiday.

It's results week senior staff will be checking email 😀
