We’re just entering this territory & can’t see what these boys do in the long summer break.

Too old to want to do camps !!!

How do you keep them entertained and active and not glued to screens?

DS, 14 is going away for a week with a mates family away for 2 weeks with us. The rest of the time he'll be hanging out with friends, watching anime and going to the sports centre teenage gym. He also has 3 or 4 days volunteering with a local charity for D of E. He doesn't do a lot of gaming but he will sleep till noon if he can!

When we were teens we were out constantly because it was the only way to communicate with mates (at least my generation). Nowadays they're permanently connected to friends via all manner of devices so it removes the need to actually venture out of the house. My 13yo is glued to some kind of tech 24/7 and I've pretty much given up for now with trying to change it. Occasionally I prod him out to the cinema or town with mates but it takes some convincing.

its seems pretty common , games on phone and xbox, tv on at the same time and eating everything in sight!

Unless its shopping for him or something else for him, he'd prefer to stay home.

Only when his friends are here does he do activities like biking and scootering..... looks like I will be having a lot of teens to stay to keep him active Smile How will the fridge cope Confused

Plain popcorn. Tesco value nachos and their jars of salsa. Cocktail sausages, piles of bread and ice lollies. Sorted 😁

rogue mine is going through plain bagels and cream cheese like it’s some kind of eating competition.
