DD (14) panic attacks and anxiety

DD's first panic attack was over a year ago and was triggered by the end of year school exams. Since then she has suffered regularly around exam time.
Now the exams are approaching again, the panic attacks are returning along with sleeping problems.

I'm struggling to think of new ways to help. DD has seen a counsellor and has had help from the school nurse. She revises for her exams and we place no pressure on her to achieve.

DD is also dyslexic and has auditory processing disorder so she tends to panic if there's even a slight disturbance during the exam.

I'm worried how she will ever cope with GCSEs.

Help! (and thank you for any advice). Smile

Oh poor love. I wonder if you might be better posting on the Special Needs boards with her having dyslexia and the apd? You might get a better level of response Smile

Hi. I have a 14 year old exactly like this. It only seems to be exams that trigger her anxiety but this time things don't seem to be improving even though the tests are finished. So hard to know if it's teenage hormones or something more serious. My DD does find talking to me about how she feels helps a bit. I suppose the most important things is to keep communicating.
