Hi,
Just looking for advice to help my 13 year old DD with her period acne. I know it's normal to get 1 or 2 beasty spots, but she has a face full the week before her period is due.
She does have oily skin, so isn't exactly spot free for the rest of the month, but her forehead in particular has approx. 50 spots/blackheads for about 7 days of the month, so I'm assuming its linked to her period.

We've tried Clearasil, Clean & Clear, Clinique, Simple, none of them make any difference. She doesn't wear makeup, and has a fairly healthy diet, apart from too much chocolate at times.

Does anyone have any experience/advise?

Birth control pills can do wonders with hormonal acne!

Otherwise, acne.org is amazing for support with acne and suggested treatment regimens

My DD has just started using charcoal and teatree oil soap. I wasn't able to get the one in this article. We are only on day 3.

Acnecide from boots,we find the gel better than the facial wash.Dd still gets a few spots and it took a few months for us to be sure it was working. We were going to try this as the spots were the big push filled ones covering her forehead and on her back and then see the GP but this worked for us.
