Birthday present for 18 year old niece

My dn will be 18 in a few weeks time and I am absolutely stumped as to what to buy her.

My budget is not huge - probably about £50 or thereabouts. I had thought about a Cineworld Unlimited pass but obviously that's way over the budget.

Dn is a lovely girl but genuinely quiet, shy and studious. Her interests, as far as I'm aware, are ballet, which she's done since she was tiny and hill walking. She has friends and does socialise but she is very family oriented. I don't really feel that I know her tastes well enough to buy her jewellery and giving her a voucher to buy clothes is what I normally do for birthdays so maybe isn't really special enough for an 18th. She is going to Uni after the summer so maybe something to do with that?

Any ideas, help, advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks

18 yr old DD here. One of the presents in that budget that went down well was a lovely leather bound note book. (probably £30 rather than £50 which would leave some left for a nice pen)

Maybe just give her cash and card and make sure you put a very personal message in the card.

Dd is that age and likes feather pens, wax seals, jasperware wedgwood stuff from second hand shops.
And succulent plants.

Voucher for Swarovski?

For your niece? Cash. Accompanied by a nice bottle of champagne/prosecco. They always want cash.

Tickets to ballet?

Can you ask her parents? I got a few suggestions from SIL for DN’s 18th last week. We ended up getting her £50 pandora earrings to match an item she already had.
