Hi
Anyone else teen like this no responsibility or acceptance for any thing or empathy. Had horrendous few days. Dd called awful names and said I'm not her mother. Oh doesn't support me and dd has been out last night and I'm dreading her coming home x

How old is your DD?

They drive you nuts teenagers - such a hugely difficult time. Every time I think we’re emerging from the hell something else happens. You have my sympathy.

Hi our teen is 17 and changed over night. Just flares up and is horrid and when she's calm again I'm actually finding it just as stressful as can't relax much as I feel she'll blow at anytime
How do you manage to get along with your teen after flare ups🙄x

Someone once told me the songld most important thing parents of teens can do iz to be prepared to let what they do and say 'wash over you' , and dont let it affect you.

Easier said than done, but I think really important for sanity Grin
I could never have dreamed some of the stuff from Ds delightful teen years, and how lacking in empathy he has been, especially between14- 17

I think best thing to do is to be kind to yourself, offer them lots of space and always check in asking how they are, leave the door open for themto talk. Dont stress if they wont talk, they may soften and talk a little more of why they are sooooo uptight at a later stage. In other words, youcant change their behaviour, but you can be that calm, rational person you hope one day they can become! Flowers
