Is there anyone out there who has a young teen with M.E.
I would love someone to talk to about difficulties in dealing with all the problems that go with it.

Sorry, have no experience, but have Googled and there is a charity called AYME which is chaired by Esther Rantzen. Google came up with a BBC report about it which mentioned the charity.

Bump for you anyway. Have you tried posting in Health?

Hi casmum -

sorry sparklynewthing i havent checked this thread for a few days now.
My 13 yr old ds1 has suffered with m.e. for two years,he has mild to moderate symptoms which appear to be getting more and more infrequent.
He has just had a bad bout recently and has had to take time off school.
He has problems with his behaviour at school which tend to be more disruption and silliness, but are bad enough for him to be put on report.
I guess the main question that I would ask is. what is the most important thing that I can do to be more supportive and understanding?
It is very difficult to know what is m.e. and what is teenage laziness.
