Nearly 3 years ago my ds (then 15) attempted suicide after 4 years of severe physical and mental bullying. I found out about the bullying about 3 months before his suicide attempt. He down played it at that time saying it was just messing around. Obviously it wasn’t! The school did absolutely nothing.
Fast forward to now and ds in new school about to take A levels. This morning I found a piece of paper in his room with “kill yourself” written on it. Not in his hand writing. I have spoken to him about it and he says it’s just messing around and his teacher saw it and thought it was funny! Obviously I am concerned. Is it just messing around or something more? Do I take it up with the school (ds now 18 so an adult) or do I believe what he is telling me? I am scared witless that the same thing may happen again. Ds also I think has aspergers. Not diagnosed but fits the pattern. He doesn’t want a diagnosis. I feel so frightened and helpless.
