SDD wants career change

SDD has lived in Australia for just over a year working with a family she was working for over here who made the move, but with OHs Mum being regularly unwell and having almost weekly hospital stays she has decided it’s best to come home and work in the U.K. where it would be easy to come home should the worst occur.
But she’s been thinking of changing career from being a nanny (live in) to a nail technician.
We are trying to help her make an informed decision as best as we can but we are both so unsure.
She’s no longer a teenager (21 in a few months) and we would be happy to have her back home with us and have a room ready for her but are unsure on what will happen long term with it.

Painting nails isn't exactly a career. It's going to be a low paid job with zero prospects.

Could she do nails whilst she studied for something better? One of my DFs did Gelish nails at £15 a pop and helped to find her Uni course.

If she’s set on being a nail technician I’d look at how much she can realistically earn in your area.
