Furious! Broken retainer

My nearly 13 year if ds has broken his bloody retainer and I am so mad!!!
Already this week one of the metal bits of his fixed brace has come loose.
He is nhs and I have an emergency appointment for Tuesday but it's still going to cost to get retainer fixed.
He constantly flicks it on and off his teeth.
I am so angry with him partly because we are skint.

Yep. I have just had the 'honour' of paying £100 for another upper retainer for my son. He blames his brother for standing on it. I blame him for leaving it on the floor and not in its case on the sink side!! I feel your angst. Feckin annoying! Angry

P.s i made him pay half

My Dd swore hers was on her bed! We found it 6 months later down the sofa after I paid £55 for a new one.

Ds's broke the day we were going. He got his fixed braces on at that point.

He has savings so tempted to make him contribute.

I really hope it doesn't cost me £100.
Still fuming.

I would get him to contribute - we have always done this and our kids know that if they lose something they'll have to contribute 25% of the replacement cost.
