Hi I'm extremely new to mumsnet and don't know what I'm doing! So apologies in advance! I have 2 amazing daughters now 11 and 14. When they were 4 and 7 I left their dad and moved them out with me. I met someone very quickly and he lived with us. Before anyone comments negatively my marriage had been extremely unhappy and he had never wanted to know the girls. I was like a single parent as he never wanted to do anything as a family. I felt lonely in the marriage and I hated how he was towards the girls. Anyway fast forward time 8 years and my eldest and partner don't get on. She misses her dad and blames my partner for the divorce. My partner isn't any better...he doesn't like her behaviour and won't talk to her. There's a lot gone on that I can't explain briefly. My question is how can I try to heal the rift between them both? I have the situation and it's so upsetting. Does anyone else struggle with step family issues?
